Code Enforcement

The City of South Houston Code Enforcement Department is here to enforce compliance of City Ordinances due to unsightly matter, high grass/weeds, illegal signs, other violations.

City Codes are enforce to reduce vandalism, fire hazards, urban blight, and to promote a clean, healthy, and safe environment for all citizens of South Houston.

Code enforcement inspections are initiated bases on either physical observation or complaints, we are here to ensure the residents and business communities maintain their properties according to federal, state, and local laws.

To accomplish this, our staff works with the property owners to:

  • Bring properties into compliance of violations.
  • Proceed with legal action.

Our objective is to obtain voluntary compliance through community education and a certain time frame for bringing properties into compliance, this will allow the City of South Houston to eliminate the nuisance.
